Behind the Book

I Love You, Too was inspired by the desire to create a touching reminder of the love we share with our pets and the memories we make together throughout our lives. Writing the story from the dog’s perspective was my way of giving a voice to our companions. And although the story depicts a dog, it is meant to represent all of our pets, no matter their kind, breed, or size.

The months I spent creating I Love You, Too are something I will always treasure and that always bring a smile to my face. Many days and nights were spent drawing while my foster kittens scampered around the room, using me as their personal jungle gym or launching surprise attacks to bat my pencil from my hand. From the initial idea and thumbnail sketches to finally holding the book in my hands, creating this story has been an incredible experience and a true labor of love.
